What to Expect in a barre balance class


A typical Barre Balance class lasts 60 minutes and follows a balanced, intentional structure:


Warm‑Up

Gentle mobility, stretches, and light cardio to warm the body and connect movement to breath—often guided by the rhythm of the music.


Barre Work

Small, precise movements at the barre targeting legs, glutes, arms, and posture.


We use props such as:

  • Squish balls

  • Sliders

  • Fabric stretching bands

  • Light weights and heavier weights in strength classes


All exercises include options, so you can adjust intensity as needed.


Core & Floor Work


Pilates‑inspired exercises on the mat to strengthen the core and improve stability and alignment.


Cool Down & Stretch


Yoga‑inspired stretches and relaxation to release tension, improve flexibility, and help your body recover.



Getting Started with Barre


Preparing for Your First Class


If you’re new to barre, here are a few tips to help you prepare for your first class:


  • Arrive Early: Arriving a few minutes early allows you to get familiar with the studio and ask any questions you may have.


  • Communicate with Your Instructor: Let your instructor know if you are a beginner or if you have any injuries. They can provide modifications and ensure you are performing exercises safely.


  • Stay Hydrated: Bing a water bottle - drink plenty of water before and after class to stay hydrated.
